About Jagatsinghpur
Jagatsinghpur District is one of the thirty regions of Odisha in the eastern bank of India. It turned into another region on 1 April 1993 being isolated from cuttack region. Its antiquated name was Hariharapur. The city of Jagatsinghpur is the area central station. It is the littlest region in the state and covers a landmass of 1759 km2. With 88.5% rate of male education and 68.5% of female proficiency, the locale positions superior to the national normal in proficiency and is one of the created areas in Odisha. The locale best the rundown in male education in Odisha. History of Jagatsinghpur involves the aggregation of Hindu, Muslim, Maratha and British domains.
The Maratha organization held the place under their purview and designated Jagat Singh in 1748 to gather income. He gathered the peshkush and Nazrana and remained an unchallenged and continuous chairman for a truly significant lot. The place was changed over from Hariharpur to Jagatsinghpur after the name of Jagat Singh since 1786. Subsequent to the bifurcation of old Cuttack District into four new areas, the Jagatsinghpur District was made on 1 April 1993. The new locale was initiated by the then Chief Minister Biju Patnaik in a propitious service. The establishment stone to the District Collectorate was laid in November 1995 by the then Deputy Chief Minister Basant Kumar Biswal and it was initiated in November 1997.
